Magdala Lawn Tennis Club in Mapperley hosted a charity fundraising day on Saturday 13th April. The event was made possible through the Bright Ideas for Tennis charity who offered children and adults the opportunity to receive coaching from ex-professional players. Former ATP player and managing director of Bright Ideas for Tennis, Danny Sapsford provided the coaching on the day and he was joined by ex-Fed Cup player Lucie Ahl.

The day was a great success with adults and juniors full of praise for the quality of coaching provided by Danny and Lucie. Their enthusiasm throughout the afternoon was infectious which created a fantastic atmosphere at the club. As well as the coaching activities there was also a fastest serve competition and the afternoon concluded with an exhibition doubles match where Danny and Lucie were able to showcase their skills to an enthusiastic crowd during a doubles match involving members of the club.

In addition to the charity event the club was fortunate to have the support of Wilson who provided a selection of demo rackets from their range for people to try on the day. This included their new Clash racket which has only just been released.
Many thanks to all involved for creating a memorable day for everyone that attended.
